2012 Plasticraft Molds
Brewer Outing

December 2011

Recently, one of our customers had a problem as they needed to have a complex tool built (600 hours tool build) and had to have it completed in 9 weeks. That time line also included any after sampling adjustments and/or mid tool build part changes. The roadblock? This tool had to run in Singapore as the remainder of our customers product line was there as well. That meant that Plasticraft Molds had to design, build, sample, adjust sizes and ship to Singapore in 6 weeks.

  • 2.5 weeks to get air flight, get thru Hong Kong customs and road travel to Singapore
  • 1 week to have any part size adjustments done
  • 2 days for sampling
  • 4 week error free tool build including texture.
  • 1 week tool preliminary design, approval and final design

Somewhere we needed to cut one week out of the schedule to make the delivery and we couldn’t change the shipping schedule. End result: The tool was shipped to the customer on time for sampling, had to have 1 size adjustment due to part sink and was off to Singapore as scheduled. A special thanks goes to our customer for having a clean model to work with.
